Dalí is love.

Not my usual style at all. Definitely more of a painterly feel. But, hey. The results were pretty legit. There's a spot color version of this photo as well, but I don't like it as much. One monolight, no reflector. In a dorm room, for one thing. I was tripping over all kinds of things. And every time I wanted a new position, we had to redo the make up on her lips. The model even had an allergic reaction to some of the makeup.

Anything for art!

Oh, "Ruby Lip Brooch" by my favorite Spanish jew was the inspiration if you couldn't tell. I love me my surrealists.

Portraits, portraits, portraits!

Had to take a portrait of a classmate. And so my picture had to be taken as well. It's a little weird being on that side of the camera, but whatever. I'm too lazy to post the rest right now.

Goin' a little Irving Penn on you...

The assignment this time was "found object" and/or available light. So, I decided to take inspiration from Irving Penn and photograph cigarette butts. They're not lit with strobes or anything, just the sun. And I had to have my lovely assistant find them for me. But, it's whatever. These two images were the results, the top being a little stronger and minimalist compared to the second.
